In 1962 Boston, Mass. was terrorized for eighteen months by a serial killer who sexually assaulted and strangled to death a succession of women. Albert DeSalvo confessed to the horrific crimes but it was all a hoax: he was not the Boston Strangler. DeSalvo's hunger for celebrity made him confess to crimes he did not commit. (less)
