This program takes you on some all-American road trips you'll never forget! First we see something we're not expecting in Colorado, alligators. The Colorado Gator Farm is a must stop for gator fans everywhere. Then we take a whirl on the hand-carved Kit Carson County Carousel, which dates back to 1905; some old-timers explain why it's their favorite stop. Next we visit Strawberry Park Hot Springs near Steamboat Springs to soak in one of the most spectacular mineral springs in the world. Then to Tiny Town, a unique, one-sixth-size town, which has more than a hundred colorful buildings; plus an authentic, steam-locomotive. Next stop, the May Natural History Museum of the Tropics, located southwest of Colorado Springs, offers over 100,000 specimens of the world's largest and most dangerous insects; bugs you need to see to believe. We take in more hot springs in Pagosa Springs; then we meet Ken Davis, who creates some magnificent art with his chain saw. We take lunch at the Coney Island Dairyland, a giant hot dog-shaped restaurant; then end the night at the Movie Manor drive-in theater. (less)
