Interested in building applications for the Internet of Things? Smart devices surround us, and the app market is only getting bigger. Luckily, the operating systems designed for IoT-Ubuntu Core, Windows 10 IoT Core, and others-also have a number of built-in features for developing robust, full-featured IoT apps. An OS-based approach to development hands over tasks such as interoperability and security to the framework, so that developers can focus on features and functionality. This course provides a technical overview of IoT application components that can be "outsourced" to the OS: interactions with sensors and actuators, data management and processing, data transmission, edge computing, cloud computing, device management, security, and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
