The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways. In my defense, I didn't know he was Jax Blackwood--who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip. Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands. Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he'd be my new neighbor. An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked-spectacularly naked-in his living room. Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore--not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun. Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we're quickly becoming each other's addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything. All we have to do is trust enough to fall. (less)

"Spatial sense involves understanding positions (above, below), locations (inside, next to, between), and orientations (sideways, upside down). Spatial sense helps us figure out where things fit, how to give and follow directions, and whether something is right-side up or upside-down. This story illustrates a search for an item just the right size, shape, and orientation to fill a basket, involving the reader in envisioning what will be a good fit"-- (less)
Fall The Mysterious Life And Death Of Robert Maxwell Britain's Most Notorious Media Baron

From the acclaimed author of A Very English Scandal, a thrilling and dramatic true-life account of the rise and fall of one of the most notorious media moguls of all time: Robert Maxwell. In February 1991, Robert Maxwell triumphantly sailed into Manhattan harbor on his yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, to buy the ailing New York Daily News. Taxi drivers stopped their cabs to shake his hand, children asked for his autograph, and patrons of the hottest restaurant in Manhattan gave him a standing ovation while he dined. Ten months later, Maxwell disappeared off that same yacht in the middle of the night and was later found dead in the water. As John Preston reveals in this entertaining and revealing biography, Maxwell{u2019}s death was as mysterious as his remarkable life. A tightly paced, addictive saga of ambition, hubris, narcissism, greed, power, and intrigue, Fall recounts Maxwell{u2019}s rise and fall and rise and fall again. Preston weaves backwards and forwards in time to examine the forces that shaped Maxwell, including his childhood as a Jew in occupied Eastern Europe through his failed political ambitions in the 1960s which ended in accusations of financial double-dealing, and his resurrection as a media mogul--and on to the family legacy he left behind, including his daughter Ghislaine Maxwell. Preston chronicles Maxwell{u2019}s all-encompassing rivalry with Rupert Murdoch--a battle that ruined Maxwell financially, threatened his sanity and led, indirectly, to his death. Did Maxwell have a heart attack and fall overboard? Was his death suicide? Or was he murdered--possibly by Mossad or the KGB? Few in the twentieth century journeyed as far from his roots as Robert Maxwell. Yet, as Fall reveals, no one, however rich and powerful, can entirely escape their past. (less)

If Detective Frank Bennett tries hard enough, he can sometimes forget that Eden Archer, his partner in the Homicide Department, is also a moonlighting serial killer . . .Thankfully their latest case is proving a good distraction. Someone is angry at Sydney's beautiful people -- and the results are anything but pretty. On the rain-soaked running tracks of Sydney's parks, a predator is lurking, and it's not long before night-time jogs become a race to stay alive. While Frank and Eden chase shadows, a different kind of danger grows closer to home. Frank's new girlfriend Imogen Stone is fascinated by cold cases, and her latest project -- the disappearance of the two Tanner children more than twenty years ago -- is leading her straight to Eden's door. And, as Frank knows all too well, asking too many questions about Eden Archer can get you buried as deep as her past. (less)
